On behalf of the Abiding Word Ministry board of directors, Merry Christmas!

Hopefully, you’ve had the opportunity to read our blog posts during 2019 or watched one of the testimonial videos of the people who have directly been helped by Vic Smith and this ministry. God’s work is wonderful to behold.

Our Impact in 2019

As you probably know, Abiding Word Ministries a biblically-based counseling ministry, with the mission of helping anyone—regardless of finances—to better understand and overcome life’s challenges using God’s word and God’s principles as the cornerstone.

During 2019, more than 180 people were directly counseled. Counselees included people with:

  • depression
  • broken marriages
  • loss of jobs
  • fear
  • worry
  • anxiety
  • parenting issues
  • anger
  • and other difficult situations

Just having someone you can talk to during these times is a blessing. Having someone who can also counsel through God’s word is God’s blessing.

The Need of Financial Support

While the counseling sessions are free to any in need, financial assistance to carry out the ministry is still needed. It costs approximately $300 to $600 ($75 per session) to counsel an individual through a group of sessions.

This includes counseling materials and books. In addition, many times the ministry has to offer gas cards just to enable individuals to travel to counseling sessions.

At other times, meal cards are provided to people obviously in need of some type of nutrition.  Approximately 95% of those counseled are provided counseling free of charge.

How You Can Help

To carry out the goals of the ministry in changing lives for the better, we are again asking for your financial help

Our annual budget is $150,000. For year ending December 31, 2019, the collections to date are approximately $100,000. As you review your year-end giving for 2019 (and make giving plans for 2020) would you consider Abiding Word Ministries as a partner?

A gift of $75 provides a complete tuition of someone in need. While a $450 donation provides the total tuition. Any amount is greatly and humbly accepted. We are particularly in need for the remainder of 2019 and for the year 2020.

One of the churches that supports the ministry is no longer able to contribute, due to financial conditions. This reduces our on-going and expected receipts by approximately $12,000.

Thus far, a replacement source has not been located. The loss of the ongoing contribution makes it even more important that we request your help. Together we can make a difference.

We Can Do More Together

It goes without saying that your continual prayers are also very essential and required if we are to succeed in our mission.

If you have any questions or would like additional information about the ministry, you may contact me directly at bolick.bruce@gmail.com. I thank you in advance for your consideration, prayers and support.

Sincerely,

J. Bruce Bolick

Chairman of the Board of Directors
