The Bible
The Treasure of God’s Word
God’s Word is a treasure of infinite value.
It is the only book that He ever wrote.
It is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, offering guidance and wisdom to every decision great or small.
It is the shield of faith to defend us from the lies, accusations, and deception of the devil.
It is the sword of the Spirit and our offensive weapon in spiritual warfare.
It is the means by which the Lord speaks to us personally.
How to use this resource
It has six sections designed to be completed one section per day over six days. Each section covers a part of what the Bible tells us about itself. It will be encouraging!
- Choose a topic that you would like to learn more about.
- Under each heading will be several Scriptures relevant to that topic.
- Copy each of those Scriptures verbatim from your Bible onto index cards.
- From those cards, choose three that seem most applicable to you.
- Over the next several days, read each of those three cards often throughout the day.
- Read them prayerfully, slowly, even out loud. Think about what the passage is saying, meditate on it, ask God to help you understand and apply it to your life.
- Go back through the other cards and choose three more.
- If you have a study Bible there may be references listed of other verses besides the ones you wrote down that will offer more insight.
There are a number of online Bible study tools that offer commentaries, dictionaries, and other resources to help in your study.
